Louise Mercieca is an award-winning Nutritional Therapist, author and founder of Tiny Tums, a specialist consultancy supporting nurseries, childcare providers and catering companies to improve nutrition, health and wellbeing in the early years.
Since 2018, Louise has worked across the UK helping organisations develop menus, training programmes and nutrition strategies that support child development and create positive food cultures.
She is the author of How Food Shapes Your Child and the newly released children’s book How Food Shapes YOU.
Alongside her consultancy work, Louise is a passionate advocate for child health and early years nutrition, campaigning for healthier food environments for children. She is also a Fellow of the Alliance for Childhood and regularly speaks on the role nutrition plays in shaping lifelong health and development.
In this session, Louise explores why the food landscape has changed beyond recognition, how ultra-processed foods hide in everyday staples, and why she believes feeding a child is a safeguarding responsibility that goes far beyond keeping them safe from choking or allergens.

- Learn why Louise believes nutrition is a safeguarding responsibility, not just a health topic
