About Early Years TV
The Early Years TV mission is to bring you the very best strategies, tips and techniques to improve and inspire your practice and better support the children in your care.
We want to bring high quality information and training to Early Years Practitioners and Educators around the world and we want to make it either free or easily affordable for all.
You’re out there every day making a real difference to the lives of the children in your care. And yet there’s so little available training and support to help you. We want to change all that.
Each week we feature a free 20-40 minute interview with a leading expert specifically selected to get you up to speed fast on an important Early Years topic or area of interest.
We cover topics like personal, social and emotional development, play, neuroscience and observations, all the way through to leadership and management, news updates, and sometimes simply examples and stories to inspire you.
Each interview is posted on Friday evening (UK time) and is available to watch completely free for a week, until the next episode is posted.

The History of Early Years TV
Early Years TV is the brainchild of Kathy Brodie – that’s me over on the right 🙂
I’ve been running the Early Years Summit online since 2016 and through the summits over 100,000 Early Years Educators and Practitioners have got access to some of the world’s best thinking and practical tips on topics such as Outdoor Play & Learning, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communicating with Young Children, Speech, Language and Communication and Physical Development.
The summits are a brilliant way for practitioners to get access to lots of information and ideas all at once. But it struck me that it would also be great to be able to access high quality tips and training on an ongoing basis – a little bit at a time.
That’s where Early Years TV comes in.
With Early Years TV you can get the best ideas and insights along with news and updates all at a manageable pace. At 30 minutes a week you can fit it in to your schedule even in busy weeks. Yet over a year it adds up to over 25 hours of brilliant training.
I do hope you find Early Years TV valuable, and make it a regular part of your agenda every week.
Enjoy the resources!
How long does each interview last?
Most interviews last between 20-40 minutes – though we also have some longer in-depth “masterclass” interviews that last over an hour.
How do I get my certificate? Will I need to take a test?
Our system will award your certificate automatically after you fully watch an episode. No need to take a test.
Once you’ve watched an episode your certificate for that episode will be available for you to print or download from the Episode page. And all your certificates can be seen in the “My Certificates” section of the website.
What payment methods are available?
You can pay by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) or by Paypal.
Can I share the interviews?
The interviews in Early Years TV Premium are for personal use and your own professional development only.
Obviously we recognise that it can be helpful to show an interview to colleagues to share specific information, but please be sensible if you do this and respect our copyright.
Under no circumstances should the interviews be copied, shared with others, shared on the internet, intranets or put on video sharing websites (including virtual learning environments such as Moodle).
Passwords must never be shared.
We reserve the right to cancel your Membership immediately and permanently – without refund – and remove you from all email lists without notice if you share or distribute your personal login details in any form. Login and passwords details are tracked and access from multiple IP addresses will be blocked permanently and without notice.
Each video can be watched for free by anyone for a full week when first released, so we encourage you to get your colleagues to sign up for Early Years TV to watch the videos at the time. That way you won’t need to share them.
How long do I have to join for? Is there a minimum time period?
There’s no minimum time period for Early Years TV membership. You can join for as little as a month, or stay for as long as you want.
It’s obviously a bit cheaper if you buy an annual membership (you get 2 free months) but you can join for a month if you want to test it out then switch to annual later, or stay on the monthly plan.
How long will I have access to the interviews for?
The interviews are available for free on the website for one week but Early Years TV Premium members get access for as long as they remain paying members.
Which Early Years Summit recordings do I get access to?
You will get FREE access to the recordings of any Early Years Summit that takes place while you’re a member of Early Years TV. In other words, if you’re an Early Years TV member on the day the summit starts, you’ll be sent a link to get the recordings FREE.
How do I cancel my membership?
You can cancel at any time either by using the “Manage Subscription” link in the menus on the website, by going here or by simply emailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you wish to cancel you must do so at least 1 day before your subscription payment is due to allow us to cancel in time.
If you ask for cancellation and a refund after your renewal has been paid then you will be charged a 5% late cancellation fee to cover the processing fees we get charged by the payment processors (currently £0.60 for a monthly subscription or £6.00 for an annual subscription).
Your annual renewal date will appear on your original invoice – please note this down so you know when your payment will be taken. We’ll also send you a reminder email two weeks in advance of payment but since emails don’t always get through you should still note down the date as it’s your responsibility to cancel on time.
Can I buy multiple copies for my staff, students or colleagues?
There are quantity discounts available if you’d like to provide access to multiple users, e.g. staff, students, members of a cluster group, settings in your Local Authority. Payment can be invoiced or paid by credit card or PayPal.
If you would like to buy multiple memberships for your setting we offer a special group discount of 20% for 2-4 memberships, 25% for 5-9 and 50% for 10 or more.
You can use the Group Purchase pricing option or contact us for more details.
The group membership enables everyone to have their own unique login, so they can watch Early Years TV on their own devices whenever and wherever is most convenient for them.
The huge advantage of this is that everyone has unlimited access to every video, which means that each member can focus on their own area of professional development – whether that is wellbeing or physical development or speech and language or safeguarding or storytelling – all from experts from around the world.
Every member gets a personalised, dated certificate for every video watched, so each member can keep a record of their own progress.
AND each member has access to the bonus features for Premium members, from woodworking to webinar discounts and book giveaways.
