Hello! I am joining from the United States. I am an early years author and presenter in the U.S., but I have friends and family in England so I follow early years work in the U.K. as well. In fact – I have three grandchildren in England! My specialty is supporting the work of early years practitioners, teachers, and providers with multilingual children. I would love to learn about the resources, strategies and questions you all have about that topic. Thank you! Karen Nemeth

Hi Karen, I am from the UK originally but work internationally now. I am Head of EYs at a school in Vietnam, previously Peru and Singapore. I work with multi-lingual children and I would love to hear some of your strategies that you use.

Hi, I am joining this wonderful international community from Germany 🙂

I’m an author and presenter on the chances of early maths for the overall development of children, including multilingual backgrounds. Since 2004, I have been involved in a didactic concept called “Let’s visit Numberland”. It started in Germany as a research project and has been growing internationally over the past years.

All children are interested in maths and maths is a universal language, so if we approach it in a tangible way and through the eyes of children, it’s an excellent chance for a multilingual environment.

The attached picture is an example of how such a home of numbers may look like. It’s only the design and the idea that counts, could be crafted out of anything.

    Happy to exchange thoughts.
