Clare Stead is an e-learning specialist, researcher and qualified primary school teacher. She has over 20 years of both classroom and active research-based educational experience in western and more deprived environments spanning numerous countries.

Clare is the founder and creator of the Oliiki App – an App that supports Baby Brain-Building in the first 1000 days of their lives.

In this session, Clare discusses what the research on early brain development actually means for our baby rooms. She explains why the first thousand days are such a critical window for brain building, and how the smallest everyday moments – a nappy change, a feeding time, a shared smile – can become genuine brain-building opportunities once we understand the science behind them.

In this episode you’ll:

  • Discover why up to a million new brain connections can form every second in the first thousand days
  • Learn how a simple game with a rattle can lay the foundations for a child’s pencil grip
  • Find out why nappy changes and feeding times might be your best brain-building opportunities
  • Understand why one-off training days rarely lead to lasting change, and what works better instead
  • See how research shows parental confidence can improve within just four weeks

Watch the full episode to find out how small, research-backed changes to your everyday baby room routines can make a lasting difference to children’s development.
