In this session, Lynnette Brock and Vicki Abrahart discuss the concept of schema play and its connection to the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD). Lynnette explains the Zone of Possible Developmental Flow Models (ZPDF), the three-circle model they use and how it has grown.
Vicki explains how, in practice, the interplay between schema, schemes and how the ZPDF has supported children’s play by identifying their interests and providing appropriate learning opportunities.
