Rebecca Maddix is the founder of the Helping Hand Early Years Consultancy. As a consultant, and a proud mother of two, Rebecca has a track record of excellence in raising standards for nurseries, childminders and after school clubs.
She began her career working at private nurseries and progressed to managing and consulting. Now, with over 16 years’ worth of experience Rebecca has a wealth of knowledge and expertise to share with settings and has also had the privilege of sharing her expertise of childcare on Yanga TV and Sky.
In this session, Rebecca explains how preparation is key and advises parents to create a positive and calm atmosphere for their children during potty training. She suggests educating children about the process before beginning and using fun activities such as roleplay, story sessions, and positive affirmations to boost their confidence and self-esteem.
Rebecca also recommends being patient and taking breaks if necessary, as children train at their own pace. She also discusses her consultancy services for childcare providers, including mystery shopping, and tailored consultancy.
