In this interview, Rachel Buckler explains the crucial role of the Safeguarding/Child Protection Lead in an Early Years setting.
Rachel Buckler has worked in the Early Years sector for 30 years, predominantly within social care. She has worked for a number of local authorities, both as a practitioner and as service manager for children’s centres and early years provision. Rachel has lots of experience of undertaking the role of the designated lead for safeguarding and child protection.Rachel’s training and consultancy company Early Years Hub, offers support on various themes including lots of training on Safeguarding Children and Designated Safeguarding Lead courses. Their team deliver to the Early Years sector directly and on behalf of a number of Local Safeguarding Children Boards.
