Louise Mercieca studied Clinical Nutrition and Life Sciences to become a nutrition expert, subsequently establishing her business The Health Kick in 2012. As a parent, a passionate runner and a self-proclaimed foodie, Louise’s mission is to arm fellow parents and those interested in healthy eating, as well as exercise lovers, with a foundation of knowledge about the types of food that promote good health.

In this interview, we discuss some easy recipes to make with children; how to discuss nutrition with children; sugar, brain foods, low-fat foods and the diet industry; what to look for in ingredients lists in convenience foods; food and immunity.

Louise specialises in simple, nutritional secrets to improve children’s health and well-being for the long term.
