Louise Mercieca, nutritional therapist from the Health Kick, has created this series of videos about ‘The Nutritional Journey of a Child’ to explain how food and nutrition can make a significant difference to young child’s life, even before conception.
She starts off with epigenetics and works through to pregnancy care, to weaning to processed food, how dental health can make a difference and finally how important vegetables are in boosting immunity.
Throughout the series, Louise explains how attitudes towards foods, whether that is sugar or vegetables, are formed when children are very young – babies even. It is vitally important that we get the mental attitudes towards food right in childhood to set children up well for adulthood.
Louise also highlights all the obvious physical benefits to providing children with food that boosts immunity, supports good dental health, helps brain development and all the other physical development that goes on in early childhood.
This series is more than menus and snacks – it’s about the beginning of children’s nutritional journey for life.
