Gaynor Ralls qualified as a consultant in Rhythmic Movement Training (RMT), at the end of 2012, and is qualified as an instructor in all of the seven available RMTi courses. She has worked with people with: Autism, Aspergers, Anxiety, ADD, ADHD, Adoption, Depression, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Speech Delays, Global Developmental Delay, Spinal Bifida/Hydrocephalus, Sensory Processing Disorders, and Parkinson’s.
Gaynor comes from a teaching background – so understands your struggle. It was her son who launched her on this pathway. It took her 7 years to find primitive reflexes – and the rest is history! She now helps families and their children and trains other in RMTi and primitive reflexes.
Gaynor Ralls discusses primitive reflexes and their importance; and how they are an inbuilt program in the brain stem that teach the brain how to survive. They must wake up in the nervous system and integrate into the nervous system in order to be the foundation stones for development.
Gaynor explains that if primitive reflexes don’t integrate, it can lead to developmental delays – and should be integrated by the age of three, but it is never too late to facilitate change. She explains the benefits of primitive reflex integration – including catching up academically, better reading, better handwriting, less anxiety, and more engagement with others.
We finish by discussing how movement and play are key to ensuring primitive reflexes are fully integrated and not retained.
