Clare Stead is an e-learning specialist, researcher and qualified primary school teacher, who is passionate about children having the opportunity to enrich their lives through creative, engaging, active learning.
She has over 20 years of both classroom and active research-based educational experience in western and more deprived environments spanning numerous countries.
Clare’s most recent venture is the Oliiki App, which empowers parents from conception to two by helping them develop children who are confident happy learners through the power of play. She is passionate about making the first 1000 days of a child’s life the best possible, as she believes that this is when the biggest impact can be made.
Clare explains how her ‘light bulb’ moment was when she first learned about the brain development that happens in the first 1000 days and how it starts from conception. Her philosophy is that we need to ‘build adventures in learning’ – really tingle and tantalize those children with the experiences that we give them.
Clare gives a fascinating analysis of baby development in the womb, from the first synapses to the development of all the senses to the brain building that goes on in the Baby Room. She also stresses the huge importance of working in true partnership with parents.
