Bev Bacon has worked in the Early Years for 20 years across a range of roles from practitioner through to management, training and Human Resources.
Dedicated to improving the experiences of those working within the Early Years community, she says that “happy, motivated staff teams are the key to happy and engaged children and families”. With Kelly Hill, she co-founded The Key Leadership to provide leadership support for leaders and managers in the Early Years sector.
In this interview, we discuss the role of leadership in supporting practitioner’s wellbeing, practitioners personal and professional development, including the ‘people development plan’; having difficult conversations with staff and your own wellbeing as a leader and manager.
